Swedish network Rakel and Norway’s Nødnett will start long-term cross-border communications with an extensive exercise 16 November. Public-safety organizations, such as police forces and ambulance services, of both countries will congregate in the towns of Meråker, Norway, and Storlien, Sweden, to test the interoperable system on the Rakel and Nødnett networks. This marks the launch of the world’s first binational communications systems.
